The Energy University


EI fosters multidisciplinary research initiatives that draws from the deep expertise among faculty and other researchers, and fosters partnerships with industry, government, non-profit organizations and others interested in solving pressing energy issues.

One of EI’s core principles is to produce credible and impartial research that informs policymakers and the public discourse on vital energy issues such as energy production, energy demand and use, energy systems and transactions, both domestically and internationally.

EI is engaged in a variety of initiatives, including energy-themed programs of study, workshops and symposia, fellowships, and interaction with the news media and other public communications. The intent of these and other activities is to educate the energy leaders of tomorrow and promote greater energy literacy among the general public.

Entrepreneurship & Innovation

EI supports the development of emerging energy technologies and pioneering innovations by sponsoring startup competitions and collaborating with organizations such as the Austin Technology Incubator and CleanTX.
