India's Just Energy Transition: Conversation with Sandeep Pai

What is a just energy transition in India? What is the current state of energy in India and what is the best approach to an energy transition in India and beyond?

India set a target at COP26 to reach 500GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy by 2030 and pledged to reach net zero CO₂ emissions by 2070. Anticipated to be the fastest growing large economy in the coming decades the path to India’s energy transition has numerous challenges ahead.

Join Sandeep Pai, Director of Swaniti Global, working at the intersection of climate action and economic development, and award-winning public radio correspondent and host Andy Uhler as they explore what a just energy transition for all of India will look like. This discussion was organized and moderated by Joshua Busby, UT professor at LBJ School of Public Affairs, distinguished scholar at the Strauss Center, nonresident fellow with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and a senior research fellow at the Center for Climate & Security.
