Steven H. Pruett

Steven H. Pruett is the President and CEO of Elevation Resources LLC, a Permian Basin focused exploration and production company which he co-founded in 2013. Mr. Pruett was previously SVP of Corporate Development of Concho Resources. He co-founded and served as President and CFO of Legacy Reserves LP, a public MLP. Mr. Pruett has 39 years of oil and gas operating, financial and management experience, most of which has been in the Permian Basin. Mr. Pruett was a Venture Partner with Quantum Energy Partners and was a VP at First Reserve Corp. He served as CEO of two PE-backed E&P companies which he sold. He began his career as a petroleum engineer for ARCO worked for Amoco in planning & economics. Mr. Pruett received his BS in Petroleum Engineering, High Honors, from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with an MBA from the Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar.

Steve is the Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, a Washington, D.C. based oil & natural gas advocacy firm. He advises U.S. Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) through his Energy Advisory Council. Steve serves on the Board of Governors of Midland Memorial Hospital Foundation and chairs the Trinity School Endowment Corp. He serves on the advisory board of the College of Business at UT Permian Basin and is a director of the Henry Foundation. Steve serves on the steering committee of the UT Energy Institute’s Permian Basin Methane Emissions Reduction Initiative.
