Nicholas Vreugdenhil is an energy economist and Assistant Professor at Arizona State University. His research combines economic theory and data to design efficient policies in settings including offshore oil and gas, electricity markets, and regulatory enforcement. His current work examines a question at the intersection of energy markets, consumer behavior, and environmental policy: as renewable energy reshapes electricity costs, how should we design menus of electricity price plans to maximize the welfare of consumers, utilities, and the environment?
