Dorian Cockrell is the National Director of Alternative Pathways at CareerSpring, a national initiative dedicated to empowering first-generation and low-income college students to launch high-impact careers. In this role, he leads strategic efforts to expand access to career pathways, strengthen employer partnerships, and connect emerging talent with industry insights, professional networks, and opportunities across high-growth sectors, including energy. Through this work, Dorian helps build diverse talent pipelines that support workforce development and economic growth across the United States.
Prior to joining CareerSpring, Dorian served as Vice President and Central Program Officer in Global Philanthropy with JPMorganChase, covering the Houston, Central Texas, and Oklahoma markets. In that role, he set the strategic direction and oversaw the firm's philanthropic investments across the region.
Before joining JPMorganChase, he was the Workforce Operations Manager for the Houston-Galveston Area Council. As Operations Manager, Dorian was responsible for providing strategic planning and direction for the workforce investment board serving the 13-county Houston-Galveston region. He also worked at United Way of Greater Houston as Senior Manager for Workforce Development. During his tenure, he led United Way THRIVE's workforce initiatives, helping hard-working families increase income, build savings, and acquire assets to create greater economic stability and opportunity.
Dorian serves on several statewide education and workforce advisory councils and boards in Texas.
Dorian is a Houston Business Journal 40 Under 40 Honoree and a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Class 55.
He is also a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Alpha Alpha.
Dorian earned both his Master of Public Administration and Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a proud Graduate Archer Fellow.
