David Dankworth is Hydrogen Technology Portfolio Manager supporting ExxonMobil's Low Carbon Solutions business, where he leads the development of technologies supporting the company's low-carbon hydrogen strategy. Over a 35-year career with ExxonMobil, he has held leadership roles across research, refining, engineering, operations, and technology strategy in the United States, Europe, and Canada.
David began his career in reactor engineering and process scale-up and has led global technology organizations spanning heat transfer, combustion, catalytic cracking, hydroprocessing, and refining process engineering. Since 2016, he has focused on the development of advanced natural gas conversion and hydrogen technologies.
He holds degrees in chemical engineering from Rice University, the University of Cambridge (Churchill Scholar), and Princeton University, where he earned his Ph.D. He is an inventor on more than 20 U.S. and international patents.
