76 percent of Americans now believe climate change is occurring, up from 68 percent a year ago, according to the latest University of Texas at Austin Energy Poll. The biannual nationwide survey, now in its fifth year, also reveals growing support for policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions and promoting further development of renewable sources of energy.
