NexusHaus, the solar-powered, highly energy efficient home designed and built by a team of students from UT Austin and Technische Universitaet Muenchen, took fourth place out of 14 finalists in the 2015 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon. The competition judges entries in 10 different areas, with points awarded for each. The NexusHaus team won first place in Energy Balance; second in Affordability; third in Engineering; fourth in Communications; and fifth in Market Appeal.
