Hydrogen could help solve electric vehicles' energy problem

The comparison of battery-only and fuel-cell electric vehicles comes down to two competing technologies with different challenges, writes Michael Lewis, program manager for fuel-cell vehicle research at UT's Center for Electromechanics, in a recent article in TexasMonthly. For fuel cells, it comes down to cost, since the technology is fully capable of replacing conventional gasoline-powered cars or trucks today.
