This week at the UT Energy Symposium, Robert King will give a talk titled "Will the internet of things change the electric business?"

Robert J. King is the President of Good Company Associates in Austin, Texas.

Abstract: Robert King will give a brief introduction to electric power markets and how they work, speak about his recent efforts to help smart-home app developers across North America to enroll customers, compete against power generators in energy markets, and build viable business models.  He will discuss market barriers at the state and wholesale market levels, (some of which will be taken up by a Technical Conference being sponsored by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission later in April), and he will discuss evolving solutions, and vision for the future of the internet of energy things.

The UT Energy Symposium meets every Thursday during the long semesters. Come early to attend a networking session before the talk: refreshments will be served at 4:45 p.m. in the POB Connector Lobby outside the auditorium.

Sessions are recorded and available here.
