General Manager, Shell Research Alliance
Haibin Xu is the General Manager of Global Academic Partnerships at Shell. In this role, he leads a global team in six countries, and oversees Shell’s technology collaboration with Universities, Research Institutes, National Labs, as well as various energy technology related Governmental bodies (such as the US DOE, UK EPSRC, and Horizon Europe) globally. He has worked for Shell in a variety of technical, commercial, strategy, startup investment, and innovation roles since 2006. He was previously the co-founder and founding director of GCxN, a global cleantech incubator as a partnership between Shell and the National Renewable Energy Lab. He holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Stanford University in 2002.
