Energy Institute Research Associate Joshua Rhodes weighs in on legislative efforts to curtail or eliminate tax credits and other subsidies for wind and solar energy providers in a new op-ed published in the Waco Tribune-Herald. Rhodes notes that all forms of energy production receive subsidies, not just renewables, and that the production tax credit for wind has actually reduced wholesale market costs by roughly $1 billion a year, saving Texas ratepayers money.
